Not everyone qualifies for prescription weight loss treatment — and that’s by design. Our prescribers only approve medication when it’s clinically safe and appropriate for you. Use this quick checker to see if you might be eligible. It takes less than 30- seconds, and there’s no obligation to proceed.
Every treatment available through Everslim is MHRA-approved, clinically proven, and prescribed only after a full review by a UK-licensed prescriber. Start your free 2-minute consultation and your prescriber will recommend the best option for your health and goals.

These aren’t trends or quick fixes. The treatments available through Everslim are backed by large-scale clinical trials involving thousands of patients.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) — patients lost an average of 22.5% of their body weight at the highest dose over 72 weeks, with 63% of participants losing at least 20% of their starting weight.
Wegovy (semaglutide) — patients lost an average of 17% of their body weight over 68 weeks, with over 83% achieving clinically meaningful weight loss.
Orlistat — typically supports 5–10% body weight loss over 12 months when combined with a reduced-calorie diet.
Individual results vary depending on dosage, lifestyle, and adherence. Your prescriber will discuss realistic expectations during your consultation.

The injectable treatments available through Everslim belong to a class of medications called GLP-1 receptor agonists. They work by mimicking natural hormones your body already produces to regulate appetite and blood sugar.
Rather than relying on willpower alone, these treatments target the biological mechanisms behind overeating and weight gain. They reduce appetite by signalling to the brain that you’re full, slow digestion so you feel satisfied for longer after meals, and stabilise blood sugar to reduce the energy crashes that trigger cravings.
Mounjaro takes this a step further by targeting two hormone receptors — GLP-1 and GIP — which is why clinical trials have shown it to be the most effective weight loss injection currently available in the UK.
These treatments are most effective when combined with healthier eating habits and regular physical activity. They are not a replacement for lifestyle changes, but they can make those changes significantly easier to sustain.

Results vary depending on the treatment prescribed, your starting weight, and lifestyle changes. In clinical trials, patients using Mounjaro at the highest dose lost an average of 22.5% of their body weight over 72 weeks. For Wegovy, the average was around 17% over 68 weeks. Orlistat typically supports more modest weight loss of 5–10% over 12 months. Your prescriber will discuss realistic expectations during your review. You can also use our weight loss predictor to see estimated results based on your starting weight.
The injectable treatments offered through Everslim are MHRA-approved and backed by extensive clinical trial data. Like all prescription medications, they carry some risk of side effects. The most common include nausea, constipation, and digestive discomfort, which are usually mild and tend to improve as your body adjusts. Your prescriber will assess whether the benefits outweigh the risks for your individual situation. For more detail, read our complete medical guide to weight loss injections.
For GLP-1 injectable treatments like Mounjaro and Wegovy, you generally need a BMI of 30 or above. If your BMI is between 27 and 30, you may still be eligible if you have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. For Orlistat, the minimum BMI requirement is 28. Your prescriber makes the final eligibility decision based on your full health profile. If you are unsure about your BMI, you can use the NHS BMI calculator.
Wegovy has been approved by NICE for NHS use, and some NHS specialist weight management services are beginning to offer it. However, NHS availability remains limited and typically involves long waiting times. Mounjaro is also being rolled out through NHS specialist services but is not yet widely accessible. Many patients choose a private service like Everslim because it offers faster access without the need for a GP referral.
Both are injectable GLP-1 treatments used for weight management, but they work in slightly different ways. Mounjaro targets two hormone receptors (GLP-1 and GIP), while Wegovy targets GLP-1 alone. In clinical trials, Mounjaro produced greater average weight loss. However, the best treatment for you depends on your individual health profile and how you respond. Your prescriber will determine which option is most appropriate. Read our full Wegovy vs Mounjaro comparison guide for more detail.

GLP-1 treatments were originally developed for type 2 diabetes management, so they can be used by patients with this condition. However, it is essential that your prescriber is aware of your diabetes status and any other medications you are taking, as dosage adjustments may be necessary. This will be assessed during your consultation.
